It is an essential requirement when owning or installing a gas or multi-fuel appliance to have your chimney swept by a professional chimney sweep. The importance of having your flue swept cannot be emphasised enough. If you fail to have your chimney swept or smoke tested problems may not be detected such as blocked flues, birds nests etc…
Open fireplaces and modern wood burners are becoming increasingly popular, and for good reason, a traditional fireplace or a new wood burner can add great character to a room, and if it is well maintained, can be an excellent source of heat during winter months. However, in order to gain any benefits of having an open fire or a wood burner in your home you must ensure that your fire or wood burner function both safely and efficiently, for this to happen you must ensure you have your chimney swept at least once a year by a competant chimney sweep.
Chimney sweeps help in the prevention of chimney fires and reduce the risk of dangerous fume emissions from blocked heating appliances, flue ways and chimneys. Clean chimneys are safer and help your environment by assisting the complete combustion of the fuel, which in turn reduces smoke emissions.
